Our Managing Director

My experience
My name is Cathal Noone and I am the managing director of R&DTaxCredits.ie. Having worked in the industry over the last five years, I have created a more efficient, robust and auditable way to provide R&D tax credit services, compliance and specialist tax advice. I have started this business to provide these services to you; scalable from the smallest start-up to the largest multinational.
Working as a director in PriceWaterhouseCoopers, I have become one of the countries leading advisors in R&D tax credits, and I have provided services to some of the largest multinationals in the world. I have advised companies across all industries, including the hardware, software, pharmaceutical, medical device, insurance, banking and agri-food sectors, with my clients claiming well in excess of €100m annually. I have spent years helping companies put systems and structure in place to support their research and development tax credit claims. During that time I have assisted clients through multiple audits, from the largest claimants in the state to small and micro companies, and have a wealth of Revenue audit experience in this area. Having gained a deep knowledge and understanding of all the intricacies and pitfalls associated with R&D tax credit claims, I have designed and developed this Cloud solution to make claiming R&D as easy and as successful as possible.
My background
I am an electronic engineer and a chartered accountant. After graduating from engineering in UCD, I was appointed project manager in a tech start-up. Having decided to expand my education, I joined PwC where I studied and qualified as a chartered accountant and also obtained an auditing certificate from Chartered Accountants Ireland. Upon qualification, I joined a multinational payments company where I worked as a financial systems accountant for almost three years. At this point I was headhunted back to PwC and asked to join their newly formed specialised R&D tax credit group. This wide and varied career path has put me in the perfect and unique position to be able to understand, collate and align all technical and financial data necessary to ensure successful R&D claims.
